Christ the King Parish Cemeteries
Bids are being accepted for the 2026 mowing season for our parish cemeteries.
Bids are due by December 10, 2025. Please submit bids to Fr. Johnathan
Schmolt, Pastor at the address above.

SCOPE OF WORK
The Contractor agrees to diligently and timely perform groundskeeping services at the below
listed cemeteries managed by Christ the King Parish. Services are to be performed to the full
and sole satisfaction of Christ the King Parish as defined by the pastor or his designee.
  • Cemeteries: St. Lawrence, Woodward Twp. (Houtzdale); St. Barbara, Brisbin; Sacred Heart, Brisbin; and Immaculate Conception, Bigler Twp. (Vulcan Road, Madera).
  • Service: Mow and trim the entire property of the cemeteries as defined by Christ the King Parish. Maintain the grass height to be less than four inches tall, especially around the upright monuments. Trimming includes all upright monuments and any fencing, ditches and trees as designated by Christ the King Parish. Mowing is to be completed weekly at all cemeteries by Friday evening each week. The frequency of mowing is allowed to be reduced during drought conditions due to the slower growth of the grass.
  • The Contractor must minimize grass accumulation on the graves and headstones. The contractor shall be responsible for picking up branches and debris and depositing in the designated location prior to mowing.
  • During extremely wet weather the Contractor is to make one's best judgement on the safety of mowing on slick ground. If the Contractor for safety reasons avoids mowing sections of a cemetery then Christ the King Parish is to be informed of that decision and the Contractor’s estimation of when the area can be mowed.
  • The Contractor is to maintain a clean and orderly appearance to the cemeteries. All decorations per cemetery policy, are to be attached or secured next to an upright monument. The Contractor is instructed to place in or near the trash receptacle any decorations that have been separated from the upright monument and the Contractor cannot discern the monument of origin. Christ the King Parish is to be informed of any other situations in the cemeteries that are interfering with the ability for the Contractor to efficiently complete their mowing or impacts a clean and orderly appearance of the cemeteries.

  • The Contractor will provide all equipment, tools, and fuel to perform the scope of services outlined.
  • The Contractor will be solely responsible for any damage that may occur during mowing to any monuments or cemetery property. Any damage will be reported immediately to Christ the King Parish and will be repaired at the Contractor's expense. All ruts from mowing equipment shall be repaired by the Contractor by leveling the ground and applying grass seed.
TERM
The bid is for the 2026 mowing season: March 15, 2026 to November 15, 2026.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
The contractor must provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance, listing Christ the King Parish as
an additional insured. The policy should provide $2,000,000 aggregate/$1,000,000 per
occurrence. The contractor should also provide proof of Workman's Compensation Insurance.
All coverage must be maintained for the entire term.
